Feast of Tabernacles 2008 Information Montego Bay, Jamaica

Jamaica, one of the Caribbean’s brightest tropical jewels, is an island of intoxicating natural beauty — from lush rainforest and mountainous terrain to spectacular waterfalls, sun-drenched beaches and turquoise waters.

This year’s Feast will be held at the Holiday Inn Sunspree Resort in Montego Bay. Holiday Inn Sunspree Resort is a 20 acre beachfront property, catering to singles, couples, and families, with great emphasis placed on families.

LOCATION

One of the many benefits guests will enjoy is the ease of transportation from the Montego Bay Sangster International Airport. Being close to downtown Montego Bay and only 10 minutes travel via Airport transfer allows guests to spend more time on the beach and less in the van to other Jamaica destinations. Montego Bay area shopping both downtown and “duty free shopping adjacent to the hotel” combined with other area attractions and on site recreational opportunities ensure no one is left with nothing to do.

ROOM ACCOMMODATION

The Holiday Inn Sunspree Resort – Montego Bay offers 524 well appointed rooms and suites. These accommodations are located within seven dedicated buildings that offer an intimate environment with the services possible from a large, full-service facility. All accommodations offer a balcony or patio, cable television, HBO, Cinemax, ESPN for the sports minded, CNN to keep current on today’s events and a digital clock radio, coffee makers, hair dryer, and iron and ironing board. All rooms have a full complement of guest amenities both within the room or from. Guest Services as part of the Holiday Inn Hospitality Program. Our on site Marketessen, duty free shop, and boutique and hair salon can also handle any personal needs of guests.

RECREATION AMENITIES

Being the third largest hotel in Jamaica, Holiday Inn Sunspree Resort has a wide expanse of beach approximately ½ mile offering guests plenty of room for walking or relaxing. Watersports including sunfish sailing, pedal boats and kayaks, are all included in the all-inclusive price. Motorized watersports are, of course, additional. The hotel has a fitness center with exercycles, nautilus equipment and tennis, basketball, and volleyball courts are all on property. The latest addition is a nine-hole miniature golf course.

FOOD AND BEVERAGE OFFERINGS

The focal point of any resort is the food and beverage offerings and the pool area. At The Holiday Inn Sunspree Resort they are virtually in the same area. The tropical lagoon swimming pool and sun deck is adjacent to most of the food offerings. The MoBay Festival Food Court is a unique marketplace of kiosks featuring a variety of international foods and tasty island delicacies open for breakfast, lunch and dinner. The Barefoot Bar & Grill is available for those who want to experience dining without leaving the pool. Entertainment is nightly and special theme events occur regularly. Casa Verandah offers open-air dining with a Jamaican theme overlooking the Atlantic Ocean, and Vistas offers Italian theme dining in a secluded enclosed environment in the Great building. Seabreeze offers seaside dining for dinner. The Jerk Hut is located by the beach on the west end of the beach offering Jamaican specialities during the day. The hotel does not recommend that guests change a lot of their money into J$ or local currency.

All services during the Feast will be held in the Rosehall Ballroom at Holiday Inn Sunspree Resort. The room is air-conditioned, so regular Sabbath attire as is worn in North American congregations is appropriate. Dress for all other activities is casual.

The inaugural service will be at 7:00 p.m. on Monday, October 13, 2008 in the Rosehall Ballroom, Holiday Inn Sunspree Resort.
